All puppies have been placed. If you would like to be placed on our wait list for the next litter, please let us know.

Sitka and Koda had their litter of puppies on March 5th. This litter has two girls and two boys. It was a BREEZE for Sitka after that last litter she had. She thinks she's in heaven. She's so much more relaxed, right from the get go. I'm sure the last litter she knew she was in for a LONG labor with 8 puppies. She was so busy it was hard for her to keep up. We were giving baths and doing supplemental feeding right away. We thought all dogs had 10 teets but not true - Sitka only has 8! So it makes it hard for all the puppies to get enough to eat when they're all fighting over who gets what nipple! This one is so easy......everyone gets a choice of two! All puppies are healthy and growing like weeds.
I will be posting pictures and videos weekly for the next couple months.

March 24 - Puppies are almost 3 weeks old (Tuesday). Their eyes have opened and they can hear us now. They are so cute when they just start to walk. Their fur is getting longer and thicker (not like guinea pigs now). They loved to have their tummies and ears rubbed and actually like being held. They now weigh 5 - 6 pounds. I see I cut off Tasha's nose. They are so squirmy when we try to take pictures. I'll try to download a video of them just learning to walk.
March 30 - Puppies are almost 4 weeks old. They're gaining weight every day (7-10 pounds now!). They're walking around well - Tony even ran today. Eyes are open and they're hearing us sneak up on them :) Their fur gets fluffier as the days go by Here are pictures from this week. Grandson has been over all week and having a blast with the puppies. They really like him too!
Friday, April 5th - Puppies went outside for a little playtime today. It's 60 degrees! Thought we'd get them out during the day and then bring them back in at night. Sitka is now teaching them not to eat while she's eating. It's a hard lesson - for all of us. The babies cry and cry. She doesn't hurt them but it sure does scare them when mom disciplines. They have lots of places to explore and it was time to get out of the whelping box. Here are a few pictures from today.
Thursday, April 18th - Pupppies have had quite a busy few days! Went to the Vet on Tuesday, got all their exams, vaccinations and workings. It's always so much fun to bring a litter into a vet. They don't see that many Alaskan Malamutes and everyone is always "ooooing and awing" at them. It's actually fun. Seems like there are always at least a couple out of the litter that get carsick, however. I feel so bad for them because they really don't feel well at all and it's their first time throwing up. They get over it quickly, however, and it seems best when I hold them as opposed to being in the kennel. They all passed with flying colors, of course. This afternoon we took them out to play with Koda. It's the first time he's actually been able to play with them. They make him a little nervous, however, when it seems like they go for his tummy and try to nurse! He's seen them on the deck before but we like to take a little time to get Sitka used to the idea of his being around them. He's the most gentle guy! So they've been running around the big backyard this afternoon but sticking pretty close to us most of the time. Every day they'll get a little braver and Sitka and Koda will teach them how to rollover on their backs when a big dog approaches. Sitka's already taught them that you don't go near a big dog that's eating. It scares the living begeezus out of them when she does though. It sounds like they're being killed. It's sad for us to think that they'll be leaving us in a little over a week. They've been an easy litter with only four and very enjoyable.
Thursday, April 25th - Just a few more days and these guys will be going to their new homes. It always us sad but this group has been especially sweet as there were only 4. Much easier to take care of! Tommie (now Kodiak) is doing really well. You can't even tell he's just got one eye that works. He's so sweet and gets around every bit as well as the rest. Tony (now Nome) is a big guy. The biggest and it's so fun to see him, ears flopping as he runs. They've all been running around the big back yard everyday this week. They really like their dad too. Koda is a really gentle guy but Sitka still gives him hell. (See video below). They're both teaching them to lay on the ground and show their bellies for the big dogs. The weather has been beautiful this week so the puppies have been playing outside a lot. They just got their second wormer today. The first round showed no worms but just to make sure. They'll probably get them sometime in their lives and it's pretty unusual for puppies not to have worms. I hope everyone knows how much we love pictures of these guys when they get home. We always love getting pictures of our puppies as they grow. Just heard from Olaf's mom tonight. He's gotten so big now - 90#'s she says at 6 months, but a great dog. She says all the neighbors just love him and he gets along well with the other dogs too. Great to hear all the good stories about our past babies. We wish them all the very best in their next life.
